ASEAN BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL: REPORT TO LEADERS - PRESS CONFERENCE

ASEAN Business Advisory Council: Report to Leaders – Press Conference will be held as follows:
Day/Date : Thursday 30 April 2015
Time : 11:15am -12:30 pm
Venue : Penang Room (lower lobby), Shangri La Hotel Kuala Lumpur
The ASEAN Business Advisory Council , the mandated private sector representative, will be holding a press conference and briefing on its recent report to leaders that was submitted during the recently concluded 26th ASEAN Summit.
Some of the critical issues that make up ASEAN-BAC’s recommendations to ASEAN Leaders this year include, the setting up of an ASEAN MSME Bank, the elimination of non-tariff measures (NTMs)/non-tariff barriers (NTBs) within and beyond the Priority Integration Sectors (PIS) of ASEAN, the deepening of financial sector integration and the development of sound financial infrastructure, as well as enhancement of the existing initiative of ASEAN to liberalise the movement of natural persons across the region
This press conference would be an ideal opportunity not only get an insight into the many facets of the report, but to actually explore the many underlying necessities that need to be put forth in order for true integration to be realized by via the formation of the AEC.
