Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) is honored to host the Malaysia Node of the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF) and to have YB Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching, the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Higher Education to launch Malaysia node of INCF on 9 October 2015.
INCF is an international organisation that coordinates the neuroinformatics research activity worldwide and facilitates the infrastructure for neuroscience data integration. Malaysia has joined the INCF in 2015 and this brings Malaysia into a group of researchers from 18 member country of an international collaboration of researchers and national funders from USA, UK, Japan, France, Sweden, Switzerland and others.
Malaysia node INCF is run by Centre for Intelligent Signal & Imaging Research (CISIR), the Higher Institution Centre of Excellence at UTP under the Ministry of Higher Education. This makes CISIR UTP the only Malaysia node of INCF.
After the launch, YB Datuk Mary will also witness a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony between UTP and its partners from Hitachi Data Systems, Prince Court Medical Centre and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for collaborative works in the general area of biomedical technology.
