AIRASIA AND MERCY MALAYSIA TO LAUNCH SCHOOL PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM

As part of AirAsia Berhad’s commitment in giving back towards the community, the AirAsia East Coast Flood Relief Fund was started in collaboration with MERCY Malaysia to raise funds for the victims affected by one of the worst floods to hit the country late last year.
Over RM900,000 were raised through this initiative, and the cheque was officially handed over to MERCY Malaysia in March 2015.
Apart from the recovery programmes which helped the affected communities to rebuild their lives, MERCY Malaysia has also allocated the funds raised through the AirAsia East Coast Flood Relief Fund to run the School Preparedness Program to increase the capacity of schools and students to respond to future disasters. This program will be carried out in 30 primary schools throughout the country by MERCY Malaysia.
AirAsia together with MERCY Malaysia will be holding a launch for the School Preparedness Program, beginning with schools in Kelantan, and we would like to invite a journalist from your esteemed publication to join us at the launch, as well as to experience the program.
