TEACHING ACCOUNTANCY FIRM (TAF) LAUNCHING CEREMONY IN UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA TERENGGANU (UMT)

SALIHIN Chartered Accountants will embark on another chapter in its milestone with the official launch of the world’s first Teaching Accountancy Firm (TAF) in Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) by the Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh. The TAF intends to provide a unique and advanced learning and real-life industrial environment for both accounting lecturers and students of the university.
SALIHIN along with its network member firms and UMT established the TAF, a fully-functioning branch of SALIHIN, aimed at bridging the gap between theory and practice in the accountancy profession’s ecosystem. The services scope covers the entire practice areas of SALIHIN, namely, audit and assurance, taxation, financial accounting and reporting, secretarial and governance services, shariah audit and advisory, business advisory, and corporate finance and transaction services.
Established over a decade ago, SALIHIN is one of the fast growing and leading indigenous consulting firms in Malaysia, serving both local and international clientele. SALIHIN aspires to become the preferred national accountancy firm of Malaysia. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, it has 5 branches nationwide with over 120 professionals.

*Media is advised to come early as Minister will proceed with the tentative given as Minister will have to go to Dewan Sultan Mizan right after TAF Launching.

The TAF is unique as it revolutionizes the relation between accountancy practitioners and their academic counterparts. Thus, the TAF will enhance the value of UMT’s accountancy graduates as it gives them the opportunity through real-world practice to gain and graduate with relevant skill-set and experience above their peers in other universities. It integrates real-life industrial environment with teaching and learning environment to allow holistic engagement with students and lecturers. Thus, it provides strong, effective, efficient, and sustainable capacity building for both lecturers and students, meeting the unmet needs and challenges of the industry, university, accountancy profession and the nation as a whole.
