CYBERJAYA, Feb 22 (Bernama) -- The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (HASiL) and Chief Government Security Office, Malaysia (CGSO) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to forge strategic collaboration and mutual understanding in improving protective security compliance.

The MoU was signed by YBrs. Puan Wan Ramiza binti Wan Ghazali, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Management) of HASiL and YBrs. Tuan Rahimi bin Ismail, Director General of CGSO and witnessed by YBhg. Datuk Seri Jamil Bin Rakon, Senior Deputy Secretary General, Prime Minister’s Department (JPM).

The two main principles of the MoU are as follows:

i. To improve the level of HASiL’s protective security through internal inspectorate and Inspectorate Special Award by the CGSO; and

ii. To improve HASiL’s security knowledge and raise awareness on protective security via CGSO’s internal and external training programmes.

In his speech, YBrs. Tuan Rahimi bin Ismail said security is one of the key pillars that forms public trust in the government. This MoU will drive the number of agencies achieving excellent protective security in Malaysia. Apart from that, the Government of Malaysia will also benefit greatly as a whole in enhancing readiness and competitive edge among government agencies.

In the meantime, YBrs. Puan Wan Ramiza binti Wan Ghazali said, today marks a momentus day in our history with HASiL being the first government agency signing the MoU with CGSO in the field of protective security compliance. With the signing of this memorandum, HASiL will benefit from the expertise and knowledge shared by CGSO, and further boosting taxpayers' confidence in HASiL by strengthening the protective security aspect.

During this event, HASiL was also presented with the Buku Panduan Inspektorat Keselamatan Perlindungan by the CGSO Office which will be used as a guide in helping HASiL to carry out protective security inspectorate activities to ensure smooth and effective daily management and operation.
